Yvonne Slobodian led the Gophers with 10. …………………………………………………… In the final, the Robert Usher Unicorns dispatched the Scott Blues 57-51 as Sandy Rishefski scored 10 and Kelly Kuz 10. Karen Bistretzan led the Blues with 15. The Blues also included Lee-Anne Bailliet, Marilyn Andrews. Scott led 30-29 at the half as Lee Anne Bailliet and Karen Bistretzan dominated the boards. But Sandy Rishefski rallied Usher to a 41-24 lead. Scott clawed back to take a 47-46 edge. Usher coach Theresa King told the Regina Leader-Post that “we almost let it slip away. The mental mistakes almost cost us. The girls started thinking that we had to fast-break against them all the time. We talked about making the mental errors before the game, so I thought they would be prepared. It worked out okay though.” Usher guard Kelly Kuz said “in the first half, everybody had butterflies. But we calmed down as the game went on. We really wanted this game. We started to get a little excited in the second half and started making mistakes. Maybe we were looking a little ahead.”
