John Simic led the Mustangs with 22. Bob Ziegler added 21, Trevor Bast 14 and Kim Pistornik 15. Unicorn point guard Tracey Ilingworth did a masterful job of distributing the ball. Unicorns coach John Kuzbik told the Regina Leader-Post that “I really thought the key to the win was the way the guys handled their press. We really showed a lot of poise. We talked about their pressure this week at practice and we tried to prepare. I thought the guys probably played their best game of the year tonight. … We were really keyed up for the game. But we kept our cool. I tried to treat this game just like any other.”

        In the South regional final, the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones edged the Regina Robert Usher Unicorns 81-78. Rob Materi paced the Unicorns with 37. Kevin Kowalchuk added 14. The Unicorns (coached by John Kuzbik) also included Leonard Stettner, Andre Tardif, Trady Ilingworth, Rob Materi.

In the provincial semis, the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones defeated North Battleford St. Thomas College Saints 64-48 as Barry Haukaas scored 24 and Curtis Lorge 21. Dan Kozun led St. Thomas with 17. David Krismer added 12. The Cyclones led 34-23 at the half.

In the other semi, the Yorkton Sacred Heart Saints defeated the Melfort Comets 52-48 after leading 26-25 at the half. Dave McGlashen paced the Saints with 13. Grant Duchsherer added 12.

In the bronze medal match, the Melfort Comets dispatched the North Battleford St. Thomas College Saints 40-33 as Pat Long scored 17.

 In the final, the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones thumped the Yorkton Sacred Heart Saints 86-64 as Barry Haukaas scored 29 and Curtis Lorge 22. Grant Duchsherer led Yorkton with 20. Dave McGlashen added 14.
