In the provincial semis, the Swift Current Beatty Barons defeated the Saskatoon Holy Cross Crusaders 52-50 as Ken Newton scored 14, Barry Campbell 13 and Dave Fiel 10. Holy Cross led 32-22 at the half and were paced by Don Battiste’s 15 points, including 13 in the second half.
In the other semi, Prince Albert St. Mary Marauders defeated the Weyburn Collegiate Eagles 56-49 as Tim Reid scored 14 and Greg Barker 14. St. Mary’s led 22-19 at the half. Bob Montieth paced the Eagles with 20.
In the final, the Swift Current Beatty Barons throttled the Prince Albert St. Mary Marauders 63-42 as center Barry Campbell scored 22 and forward Dave Fiel 22. Beatty had superior size. They led 31-21 at the half and 43-30 at the three-quarter mark. Barry Nishnick led St. Mary’s with 12. Don McCormick added 7.
