We’ve played together for a long time.” The Avengers put on a full-court press near the end of the first quarter, frustrating Fillmore, but the Falcons quickly adjusted. “We didn’t panic,” said Falcons head coach Tracy Ogden. “We got the ball to our good handlers and away we went.” Avengers guards Deena Martinka and Jill Heidecker relied on their outside shooting against a strong 3-2 zone defence that sealed off anything near the basket.
