In the semis, the Lake Lenore Lancers torched the Loreburn Aztecs 79-37 as Jillian Weseen scored 25. Kristi Hodgson and Stephanie Houland each notched 10 to pace the Aztec.
In the other semi, the Wolseley Warriors dispatched the St. Walburg Saints 61-53 as Aimee Beliveau scored 25. Celeste Champigny led the Saints with 19.
In the bronze medal match, the St. Walburg Saints defeated the Loreburn Aztecs 64-50 as Celeste Champigny scored 15. Charmine Wandler led the Aztec with 15.
In the final, the Lake Lenore Lancers defeated the Wolseley Warriors 69-40 to capture its fourth consecutive crown. Carla Puetz paced the Lancers with 27. Jillian Weseen added 21, Amy Brockman 8, Sarah Gerwing 4, Sherri Berscheid 3, Stacy Newberry 2, Amanda Schafhauser 2 and Leyette Mueller 2. Angie Boehme paced the Warriors with 26. Aimee Beliveau added 6, Jane Bieber 4, Kristen Miller 2 and Erin Moss 2. Puetz told the Regina Leader-Post that “we’ve worked hard to get here. We always wanted to keep it going. It’s pretty exciting that we four-peated. Every championship is more and more exciting.” The Lancers held the Warriors scoreless after Beliveau fouled out with six minutes to play. Beliveau said “they’re the better team. I thought we matched-up pretty well with them. We missed a lot of shots. We gave them a good game. That’s all we wanted.” Puetz said coach Wade Weseen told them “this game could have gone to anybody. It was just whoever played well. We’ve never dealt wit hlosing. Losing never comes into our minds. We had to play well to win and we did. We never would have given up on this one. Near the end, we just kept playing harder and harder.”
