Cougars rookie coach Gregg Galan told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix that “we started (the season) with a raw bunch of players. This is sweet because we did it in one year.” Miller said “to win a championship is an awesome feeling, it’s the best. Last year, we didn’t do very much. We weren’t in unity and we didn’t really have a team that was capable of winning. But our coach, he turned it all around.”
