In the first qualifier, the Prince Albert Carlton Crusaders edged the Moose Jaw A.E. Peacock Toilers 67-63.

        In the second qualifier, the Yorkton Regional Raiders nipped the Swift Current Ardens 66-63.

        In the third qualifier, the Moose Jaw A.E. Peacock Toilers dusted the Prince Albert St. Mary Marauders 78-45.

        In the fourth qualifier, the Swift Current Ardens spanked the Estevan Elecs 63-45.

        In the provincial semis, the Prince Albert Carlton Crusaders ended the Swift Current Ardens run of eight consecutive provincial titles by notching a 64-52 win as Kristie Armstrong scored 24. Kim Perree led the Ardens with 22. Brandy Yee added 14. Ardens co-coach Lori Granger told the Regina Leader-Post that “you can’t stay on top forever. We’re certainly not at the bottom of the barrel. We’ve got a bright future.” Co-coach Dave Redekop added that “when you’re number one, everybody is picking at you, trying to knock you off the pedestal. I’m not disappointed at all. I’m very proud of the girls. There are some tears right now but there should be. Any athlete with any kind of dedication would be upset. If they walked out of here smiling, you’d have to question that.” Perree, who played with a broken finger, said “I’ll regret it. But we struggled all year. We’re a young team and we’re inexperienced. We knew it would be tough here. … You sort of feel like you let everybody down at school. They were kind of expecting us to win. After winning eight years in a row, they say: ‘oh, they’ll win again’. It’s hard.” Armstrong said “we knew they would be tough. We were really mentally prepared for this game. We worked on our conditioning to make sure we could make it through the whole game running since we’re a smaller team.”

        In the other semi, the Yorkton Regional Raiders nipped the Moose Jaw A.E. Peacock Toilers 54-53 as Renae Lischynski scored 12 and Tanya Pfefferie 12. Tami Windemaier and Medorann Harris each scored 10 to pace the Toilers.

        In the bronze medal match, the Swift Current Ardens defeated the Moose Jaw A.E. Peacock Toilers 61-56 as Kim Perree scored 22. Christa Gray led the Toilers with 22.

In the final, Prince Albert Composite clipped the Yorkton Regional Raiders 58-45 as Sherri Reilly scored 28. Janice Zwirsky paced the Raiders with 12.
