Gaylene Galenzoski led the Blues with 19. The Gophers dominated the defensive boards and led by as many as 30 in the second half. Scott rallied to within 48-41 but Central called a time out and got a grip on their nerves. Gophers coach Lorne Armstrong told the Regina Leader-Post that “I told them the clock was on our side. We were starting to throw the ball away, so I just tried to calm them down.” Gophers forward Jil Lauritzen said “we were getting too excited. So, we had to slow down and pass more.”

In the provincial semis, the Swift Current Ardens bombed the Prince Albert Carlton Crusaders 60-37 as Jenny Heig scored 15, Ronalee Thistlethwaite 13 and Tricia Reimer 10. Reimer told the Regina Leader-Post “these rookies are really smart. They’ve got good ball sense.” Ardens coach Marg Brown said “we didn’t make excuses. … This was our 33rd game of the year and only six of them have been within 20 points.” Kendra Fernie led the Crusaders with 15.
In the other semi, the North Battleford Vikings nipped the Moose Jaw Vanier Spirits 58-57 as Chantal Goodmanson scored 11 and Colleen Muth 10. Sheila Thul led the Spirits with 16. Nola Langili added 13 and Shirley Johnson 10.
In the bronze medal match, the Moose Jaw Vanier Spirits clipped the Prince Albert Carlton Crusaders 49-39. The Crusaders included Kendra Fernie, Kerri Mourot.
In the final, the Swift Current Ardens defeated the North Battleford Vikings 70-57 as Sharon Maffenbeier scored 18 and Ronalee Thistlethwaite 16. Colleen Muth led the Vikings with 17.
