Sandie Brust hit two free throws with 19 seconds to play. Debbie Kemp hit a field goal to rally Evan Hardy back within one. She was fouled on the play but missed the free throw and June Gemmell hung on for the rebound as Bedford Road escaped with the win. Gemmell finished with 14 points. Brust added 13 and Joanna Swaan 7. The Monarchs had led 28-25 on a field goal by Barbara Watson. But Gopher Rhonda Hunter hit a bucket and Pearpoint a bomb as the Monarchs pulled out the win. In the provincial final, the Saskatoon Bedford Road Redmen defeated the Regina Central Gophers 43-38 as Lynne Waldner scored 12 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass. June Gemmell added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Sandie Brunt scored 10 on 6-7 from the line, Grace MacMillan 4, Joanna Swaan 2 and Sherri Wright 2. Bedford Road led 11-7 at the quarter, 23-16 at the half and 37-26 at the three-quarter mark. Centre Linda Vail, who averaged 26 ppg on the season, led Central with 14. Rhonda Hunter added 9, Debbie Smith 5, Gerry Pearpoint 4, Jean Perkin 4 and Leslie Howard 2.
