We knew we would have to play well in all areas of the game and sustain it from start to finish. We were able to do that,” Eagles coach Lars Guenther told the Weyburn Review. “The lads definitely saved their best game for the one that counted the most. I am very proud of them.” Cyclones coach Ryan Boughen told the Moose Jaw Times Herald that his troops didn’t play their normal game. “If we would have played better would have it changed the outcome? I’m not sure about that, the way that they played, we were in tough. We had played them twice before and they never played like that. … Weyburn had a player that didn’t play with them for most of the season because he was out with an injury and when we played them in the final, we knew it was going to be a tough game. Weyburn played really, really well, they had 2-3 of their senior kids that were really dialed in and their big kid inside just dominated. We struggled offensive with him in there and playing in the paint, we weren’t attacking as well and we weren’t getting rebounds, so it was a combination of a couple of things.” Jaxson Brownell led the Cyclones with 12. The Cyclones finished 28-4 on the campaign. Guenther told Weyburn This Week that “we lost both games against Central this year and they have played like the number one 4A seed all year.
