In the provincial final, the Regina Campion Maroons defeated the Saskatoon St. Paul’s Saints 37-32, after leading 12-11, 20-16 and 29-27 at the quarters. St. Paul’s only led twice, early in the game and midway through the third quarter. “Their strength under the boards was amazing,” St. Paul’s coach Father Marshall told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix. “I kept juggling our links hoping to find a winning combo but I guess it wasn’t our day to win.” Rebounding proved the difference. Arnold Czerwinski scored nine and held Mickey McNeill to 7. Fred Shandro scored 12, Rudy Lipp 10 and Art McAvoy 9. Campion only used one sub Fran Justik. Guard Dale Prokop led St. Paul’s with 15. Guard Bob Kochorek fouled out in the final quarter.
