In the provincial final, the Regina Campion Maroons defeated the Saskatoon Nutana Collegiate Blues 35-33. Gar McIndoe’s effort to force overtime was ruled as being too late before the buzzer sounded. The Blues led 13-4, 19-18 and 25-24 at the quarters. Dave Butts paced the Maroons with 16. Bob Mirwald added 7. Terry Little led the Blues with 13. Ian Dallas added 8 and Bill Carruthers 7. Campion took its first lead on a free throw by Butts with seven minutes to play. Leading 33-30, they went into a freeze. Harvey Herauf fouled out and Terry Little hit two free throws to make it 33-32. But Rich Haughan answered with a jumper to make it 35-32 and 30 seconds on the clock. Evan Kyba hit a free throw with 10 seconds remaining to trim the final margin to two.
