        In the provincial semi-finals, the North Battleford Vikings defeated the Prince Albert St. Mary Marauders 49-48. St. Mary’s broke to an early 15-4 lead but then both teams went ice cold in the second quarter before the Vikings rallied to within 19-17 at the half. The Marauders appeared to take command in the third quarter as they moved ahead 35-29 before the Vikings started draining treys and moved ahead by one with a minute to play. St. Mary’s took a one-point lead with 20 seconds to play but North Battleford had the answer with 12 seconds remaining on the clock. Mike Katcheech paced the Vikings with 22. Max Olehsinski led St. Mary’s with 13.

        In the other semi, the Yorkton Regional Raiders edged Moose Jaw A.E. Peacock Toilers 54-51. Both teams struggled to score early as Yorkton Regional built a 7-2 lead and then extended it to 17-9 after one quarter. The Toilers clawed back to within 28-27 at the half but the Raiders slowly inched to a five-point lead after the three-quarter mark. The teams traded the lead down the stretch before the Raiders pulled out the win. Kris Heshka led Yorkton with 20. Craig MacLeod paced Moose Jaw with 17.

        In the bronze medal match, the Moose Jaw A.E. Peacock Toilers nipped the Prince Albert St. Mary Marauders 60-58 as Craig MacLeod scored 15 and Matt Pitts 12. Chris Archibald led St. Mary’s with 20. Paco Dabo added 17. The Marauders also included Scott Jenkins.

        In the final, the Yorkton Regional Raiders whipped the North Battleford Vikings 79-50 as Kris Heshka scored 26 and Carlin McKay 23. Calvin McFaul led North Battleford with 17. Alvin OxeBin added 13. Yorkton led 40-33 at the half. “We came out focused. We set a tone early,” Heshka told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix. “It was all business.”
