Matthew Deutscher paced the Crusaders with 24, including 22 in the first half. Shaun Nechvatal added 18. Franklin told the Regina Leader-Post that “we scared ourselves. We played badly. The intensity level rose 100% (in the second half). We had to come out yelling and talking. We started intimidating them by screaming and the crowd was screaming. We were pressing them and it seemed to make them miss shots.” Lion Nate Schellenberg said “in the first half, we weren’t getting into it. We weren’t guarding them closely enough. They were hitting three-pointers. In the second half, we decided to play Deutscher with one man and key on him so he couldn’t shoot. The rest of the team wasn’t hurting us from outside.” Crusaders coach Barry Rawlyk said “they adjusted a little better than us at half-time obviously. They’re a pretty experienced club. It’s tough to rattle them. But maybe they had their eyes opened a little bit.”

In the final, the Saskatoon Evan Hardy Souls defeated the Regina Luther Lions 91-89 in overtime as Chris Boschman scored 37, including a breathtaking nine treys. Aaron Bell led the Lions with 31. Chris Franklin added 23. The Lions led for 39 minutes and 39.2 seconds as Bell dominated the paint and point guard Franklin effectively pounded the ball inside to his post. The Lions had led 19-6 early. But an and-one by Regan Switucka midway through the first half appeared to give the Souls a measure of confidence as they rallied to within 41-33 at the half. Boschman hit his third trey of the game as the Souls drew within 52-49, a much-needed offensive lift as gunner Troy Vanin was in foul trouble. Boschman added five more treys down the stretch and then, with Luther leading 84-82 with 20 seconds to play, he nailed his ninth of the night. With six seconds on the clock, Luther’s Ian Smith drove, was fouled and hit 1-2 from the line to knot the score at 85 and force overtime. In the extra session, Evan Hardy’s Kory Dawe and Kevin Tysowski nailed buckets. But Franklin and Bell answered for the Lions to knot the score at 89. Then Switucka hit the winner. Boschman told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix “I think I had four (treys) in a game once. I was hot and cole in the first half but then I started to feel it. When I had the shot, I took it. This is sweet.” Dawe said “last year, I din’t much of a part of it. So this one’s better. More of us had a bigger part of it.” Souls coach Jeff Colquhoun said “Luther has a good inside-outside combination with Bell and Franklin. We wanted to draw Bell away from the basket. We started getting some turnovers in the second half and the tempo was more in our favour, but we couldn’t get over the hump. Then we went to a full-court press and running game. And we didn’t give up any baskets to Bell in close.” Switucka told the Regina Leader-Post that with four minutes to play and the Souls trailing 76-67 that “to tell you the truth, I thought it was over. I thought they had it. Our last timeout, we said: ‘it’s not over. But we have to keep the intensity up. We can turn it over’.” Lions coach Paul Humbert said “their philosophy was to go for the ball or get a foul. That’s they only way they could win. They seemed to come up with the ball every time and they every shot they had to. … That’s what hurt the most – we thought we had control of the game for 35 minutes. Then we lost a bit of composure.” Franklin said “I’m not going to think about it. Not for a while. I just don’t want to. The season is over. I just don’t want to think about it.”
