In the final, the Regina Christian Grizzlies defeated the Kinistino R.J. Humphrey Blues 60-51 after leading 20-7, 33-21 and 47-40 at the quarters. Milan Aveyard paced the Grizzlies with 24. Katrina Euteneier added 16. Bailey Johnson led the Blues with 24. Jennifer Porter added 9. The crowd noise “was crazy,” said Katrina Euteneier. “Our whole school came out. It was awesome to have that many fans. It was so loud that we couldn’t even hear ourselves talk to each other. … I cried. It was so exciting – a great way to end the season.” Milan Aveyard said “it was unbelievable. I was speechless afterwards. … The crowds were great everywhere we went. It’s so great to be here. Even if we hadn’t won, it’s so great to make it (to Hoopla).” Blues coach Bill Yeaman said “our girls battled hard and we’re proud of them. They’ve got a lot of heart and they don’t quit, and we’ve seen that all year.” Aveyard said “it was very scary. I thought we weren’t going to win. It was getting close and then we pulled it out in the end. It was nerve-wracking.” Aveyard was impressed with Kinistino’s Johnson. “Number 21, she’s really good. I knew she was going to give us a run for our money.”
