Kendra Blerot added 4. “This is really emotional,” Trudel told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix. “Everything we do is the last and that’s really tough.” Trudel added the Mustangs entered the tournament determined to win gold after losing the 2009 final by two. “We were satisfied (with silver), but we wanted gold,” Trudel says. Meath Park co-coach Dave Seto said it’s good his team remembers last year’s tight loss, but he also stresses that 2009 and 2010 are far removed. “You can use the experience, and maybe use it as motivation, but we’ve also said that every year is different,” Seto said. “We’ve got new tactics, new strategies and new adversities.” Meath Park led 24-4 late in the opening half and 28-11 heading into the third quarter.

Jennifer Porter added 6. Mustangs coach Tom Hazzard captured his fifth consecutive title after four straight with Kinistino. Hazzard is the first-year principal at Meath Park School. Kinistino coach Bill Yeaman said his troops were disappointed. ‘That’s what happens when you set your expectations so high and are so demanding. Eventually you will look back on it and say it is a great medal, but right now that is not how we feel.” Kinistino has met Meath Park four times during the season before meeting in the provincial 2A final. “It is kind of fun to coach against Dave Seto (the Meath Park coach), I know him extremely well and we have a good coaching relationship and friendship. I don’t think it makes it any more intense, I think he is just a friend and a good coach,” Yeaman said. Meath Park’s familiarity with the Blues was Kinistino’s downfall. “They know exactly what we do and we know exactly what we do. We had a great defensive game, but with shooting we really struggled. We were three for 12 from the foul line,” he said.
