In the other semi, the Kinistino R.J. Silhouettes coach Bob Gottselig told the Regina Leader-Post that “their point guard (Angie Stabner) in the last five minutes won the game for them. We ran the halfcourt trap and she’s one of the few players who can throw the ball half the length of the court. That won the game for them. Not only did we not get the ball but they got some easy baskets.” Shaunavon led 34-31 when the Blues went on a 10-0 run. Stabner said “we know what a press is this year. Last year, we didn’t know how to break a press.”

Cougars coach Ian Obrodovic told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix that “the girls have played tough and tenacious all year long. They just wanted I tvery bad.” McEachern said “we like to fast-break, set the tone and keep going.”
