In the regionals, the Bull Lake Lionettes earned a berth in the sectionals by bombing St. Angeles Academy 87-58. In the earlier semi, Gull Lake had dusted the Shaunavon Silhouettes 79-29.

In the semis, the Kinistino R.J. Humphrey Blues defeated the Wynyard Bears 46-40 as Judy Woje hit 15 and Cindy Thompson 12. Marie Prozniak led Wynyard with 12. Chris Bzdel added 11.

        In the other semi, the Rosthern Junior College Longhorns defeated Gull Lake Lionettes x-x.

        In the bronze medal match, the Wynyard Bears clipped the Gull Lake Lionettes 44-36 as Cheryl Bzdel scored 19.

        In the final, Kinistino defeated the Rosthern Junior College Longhorns 55-49 after getting hot in the second half. Barb Johnson paced Kinistino with 16. Cindy Malmgren added 10, McNulty 8, Judy Woje 6, Thompson 6, Wilton 5 and Sorenson 4. Pat Janzen led Rosthern with 14. Sharon Koop and Madelein Boldt each hit 10. Epp added 6, Patkan 6 and D Letkeman 2. Kinistino coach Bob Patterson noted. “They were so much bigger than us. If we didn’t score on that first shot, they’d get the rebound and we’d be out of luck. Luckily, quite often, we sank that first one.”
