In the regionals, Shaunavon advanced to the sectionals by clipping the Maple Creek Redmen 59-46. In the semis, Shaunavon had defeated the Gull Lake Lions 54-53.
In the semis, the Yorkton Sacred Heart Saints defeated the Outlook Blues 91-70 after exploding for a 15-3 run in the final three minutes of play. Grant Dascheru hit for 27, while Shane Halowatiuk, Dave McGlashan and Dave Weber each added 12. Outlook was paced by Dave Loken’s 25 points. Henry Paulgaard added 16.
In the other semi, the Clavet Cougars defeated the Caronport Cougars 83-67 as Kevin Reynolds scored 22 and Henry Van Lambalgen 21. Don Reed led the Cougars with 23.
In the bronze medal match, the Outlook Blues edged the Caronport Cougars 63-59 as Al Holth scored 25.
In the final, the Clavet Cougars defeated the Yorkton Sacred Heart Saints 91-86 after opening the second half with a 10-2 run. Doug Winmill led the way with 25 points. Henry Van Lambalgen hit 12, Blaine Ball 16, Kevin Reynolds 10, Gary Read 10 and Brent Ball 9. Dave McGlashan led Sacred Heart with 32. Grant Dascheru hit 18, Jerry Robylka 17, Bill Pacholka 15, Krywulak 4, Weber 4, Holowatuck 4 and Chicolo 2.
