In the quarterfinals, the 4th-seeded Hampshire Bluefield-1 Bobcats crushed the 5th-seeded Kensington Torchettes 70-39 after leading 34-23 at the half. Haley Wilting led the Bobcats with 20. Maria Walsh added 15 and Jordan Havenga 14. Kelsey Haslem paced the Torchettes with 9. Kelsey MacLean added 7 and Annie Tuplin 6.
In the semis, the top-seeded Charlottetown Colonel Gray-1 Colonels crushed the 4th-seeded Hampshire Bluefield-1 Bobcats 79-55 after leading 39-18 at the half. Kendra Craswell paced the Colonels with 17. Victoria Barbour added 13, Jenna Mae Ellsworth 13, Jada Yeo 12 and Sophia Blanchard 11. Haley Wilting paced the Bobcats with 16. Maria Walsh added 15 and Jordan Havenga 15.
In the other semi, the 3rd-seeded Summerside Three Oaks-1 Axettes defeated the 2nd-seeded Charlottetown Rural-1 Raiders 50-44. The Raiders led 26-19 at the half and 37-33 after three quarters. Nicole Davies of the Raiders and Three Oaks’ Julie Campbell traded treys to knot the score at 42 with 2:41 to play. Campbell added a lay-up to give Three Oaks its first lead with 2:19 to play. Kelsey MacKinnon scored off a steal to make it 46-42, and Nikki Arsenault pilfered the ball for a runout layup to make it 48-42. Sarah Steele converted a steal to move Rural to within four points with 54 seconds remaining, but Campbell broke loose with 18.9 seconds on the clock to close out the scoring. Julie Campbell led the Axettes with 22 points and 11 boards. Nikki Arsenault added 13 points and 8 boards. Lexi MacInnis paced the Raiders with 24. Sarah Steele added 5.
In the bronze medal match, the 2nd-seeded Charlottetown Rural-1 Raiders edged the 4th-seeded Hampshire Bluefield-1 Bobcats 67-65 after leading 31-23 at the half. Lexi MacInnis paced the Raiders with 25. Sarah Steele added 16 and Kasie Little 8. Haley Wilting paced the Bobcats with 23, along with 13 boards and 4 blocks. Allie Matheson added 15, along with 12 boards, and Jordan Havenga 14, along with 10 boards. Three treys by Lexi McInnis and one by Laura Burge keyed a strong Raider third quarter and Rural led 58-43. An 8-0 Bobcat run brought them to 58-51 with five minutes to play. Three hoops by Haley Wilting tied the score at 65-65 with 1:14 to play. A backdoor cut and Sarah Steele to Lexi MacInnis bounce pass gave Rural the lead with 6.8 seconds to play. The Bobcats also included Maria Walsh, Abby MacDonald, Tayler Harvey.
In the final, the top-seeded Charlottetown Colonel Gray Colonels bombed the Summerside Three Oaks-1 Axettes 82-29. Kendra Craswell paced the Colonels with 20. Jada Yeo added 18, Jenna Mae Ellsworth 15 and Victoria Barbour 15. Julie Campbell paced the Axettes with 13. Nikki Arsenault added 6. “We had a few nerves at the start of the game, but then we got rolling,” Gray coach Chris Annett told the Charlottetown Guardian. The Colonels led 16-4, 45-9 and 68-18 at the quarters. “We’re defensively oriented,” Annett said. “There are days when the ball won’t go in the basket for ya, so the only you can win is to keep it out at the other end. We made that a point of pride all year.”
