In the bronze medal match, the Barrie Innisdale Invaders defeated the St. Catharines CI Saints 39-36. The Saints led 21-6 at the half. The Saints (coach Walt Szpilewski) included Joy Cushing, Nora Sheffe, Tammy Naughton, Georgie Grant, Judy Passley, Audrey Winter.

In the final, the Sarnia St. Patrick’s Fighting Irish defeated the Etobicoke Mimico Marauders 59-39 as Lynda Spero scored 20, Vicki Harrison 14 and Colleen Ryan 10. Carol Turcotte led the Marauders with 18. Cindy Tobin added 18 and Stephanie Smith 16. Fighting Irish coach Bob Delaney told the Toronto Star that “it was just an outstanding game for us and the culmination of a great year. Our team depth was solid and the girls were able to outshoot them, control the boards and the defence just shut them down.” Smith said “we knew the shots had to go in if were to have any chance of winning but the team just couldn’t connect. … It just wasn’t our game.
