X-Men coach Larry Brown told the Ottawa Citizen “they certainly had most of the fans on their side and there was never more than a five-point spread.” The X-Men led 31-29 at the half. The X-Men, who finished 38-2 on the season, also included Carolyn Doody.

       The 2nd-seeded Sarnia St. Patrick Fighting Irish whipped the Brantford North Park Trojans 79-46 as Sue Forsyth scored 34. Lynn Anderson led the Trojans with 22. The Trojans (coach Teresa Fullerton) also included Lynne Andrew, Susie Perkins, Eileen Kocsis, Patti Wright.

       In the other semi, the top-seeded Sudbury Secondary North Stars stomped the Welland Notre Dame Fighting Irish 56-33.

       In the bronze medal match, the 2nd-seeded Sarnia St. Patrick’s Fighting Irish edged the Welland Notre Dame Fighting Irish 56-55. The Fighting Irish included Frances McDonald, Jolene Krar, JoAnne Laforest, Marcie Vanderzanden, Kelly Cahill.

In the final, the top-seeded Sudbury Secondary North Stars clubbed the 3rd-seeded Hamilton Bishop Ryan Celtics 61-41 as Mary Anne Kowal scored 25 and Sandra Hamilton 16. The North Stars led 38-35 with eight minutes to play but exploded in the final quarter. North Stars coach Mitch Lalonde told the Hamilton Spectator that “they had a tough game earlier in the day but they still came out and played great.” Sharon Knowles led the Celtics with 17. Joanne Howatt added 10. Celtics coach Joe DiTrapani said “I guess we just ran out of gas in the fourth. … I have to give them a lot of credit for the win. They have a lot more balance than we do and we had a hard time trying to stop Kowal. Sharon didn’t dominate this game as she had the others. The bigger court isn’t really suited to her game but she was still playing well.”
