The Crusaders led 40-36 after three quarters. “Everybody feels great that we knocked off both St. Mike’s and Oakwood to win the gold medal,” Crusaders coach Paul Melnik told the Etobicoke Guardian. “We scored a bucket and then they (Oakwood) turned it over in transition and we launched a three-pointer between midcourt and the three-point line and it went in and then we were only down one (at the half). … They (Crusaders players) had a great season, 31-and-1 in Canada and 6-and-1 against American teams. That’s 37-2 in North America. That’s pretty darn good.” Shae Brown paced the Crusaders with 16. Kadre Grey led the Barons with 20.
