       In the WOSSA final, the Windsor Assumption Purple Raiders clipped the London Arva Medway Cowboys 40-29 as Innocente scored 11, Gardner 8, Marcus 7, St. Pierre 6, Rourke 5 and Parent 3. Bob Hines (Mires?) led the Cowboys with 14. Jack Barclay added 6, Barry Ager 5, John Thomson 2 and Greene 2, while Hueston was scoreless.

       The Hamilton Central Golden Ghosts refused to sign OFSAA consent forms aimed at preventing high school players from playing for both a high school and an OABA team. The Golden Ghosts (coach Ron Weston) included Murray Atkinson, Wes Hicks, Gnish, George Feaver, Hugh Fiddes, Byron Smith, Giglia, Ed Baczek, Palchesky, Warda, Robertson and Gerdeis.

In the provincial quarterfinals, Windsor Assumption Purple Raiders topped Niagara Falls CVI Red Raiders 64-46 after using a tight 2-1-2 zone to contain the Red Raiders. The Purple Raiders went on a 15-0 run in the second quarter to break the game open. Windsor was led by Leo Innocente 17, Ed Marcuz 15, Byron Rourke 14, Bob Gardner 9, Bucky Parent 5, Carl St. Pierre 2 and Dave Kutcha 2, while Pat Buecker, Tom Mailloux and Jim Broderick were scoreless. Dave MacGillvray and Ron Graham each scored 16 to pace the Red Raiders (coach Jimmy Rose, manager Dick Weir). Doug Marshall added 7, John Strautnieks 6 and Phil Johnston 1, while Gary MacGillvray, Carl Minor, Brian Masur and Bleue were scoreless.

       The Sudbury Mining & Tech Blue Devils defeated the Etobicoke Collegiate Rams 61-52 as John McKibbon scored 28, Parker 14, John Tymchuk 9, D Andlar 4, Burson 3, Koskie 2 and Pushkarenko 1, while Pella, Hill and Roberts were scoreless. Bill Lawson paced the Bombers with 17. Bob Wowk added 14, Roman Pashkewych 6, Leith 2, Ken Hook 2 and Wally Haig 1, while Quarrington, Bromstein and Boris Mischenko were scoreless. The Bombers (coached by Angus Dixon) also included Neil Christensen, Bill Lundy and Wall.

       In the last quarterfinal, the London Sir Adam Beck Spartans clipped the Ottawa Glebe Gryphons 60-48 as Brian Laird scored 19, Barry Howson 13, Gerry Witherden 10, Tim Timbrell 7, Boug 6, Woloshyn 4 and Murray 1, while Turek, Taylor and Earthy were scoreless. George House paced the Gryphons with 13. Morley Ross added 13, Ken Kilrea 10, Nels Skuce 4, John Kirkconnell 4 and Ken Osterholt 2, while Maurice Lajeunesse, Brian Graff and Bob Laughton were scoreless.        In the semis, Windsor Assumption dumped the 2nd-seeded Sudbury Tech Blue Devils 67-53 after Bob Gardner scored 29. Dave Kuchta added 15, Leo Innocente 13, Byron Rourke 3, Carl St. Pierre 0, Pat Bueker 0, Tom Mailleux 2, Bucky Parent 0, Jim Broderick 0, and Ed Marcuz 3. John McKibbon paced the Blue Devils with 14. Marvin Parker scored 17, P. Andlar 2, John Tymchuk 10, Burson 0, Pushkarenko 0, Koski 0, Feltz 0, J. Andlar 0, and Morris 0.

In the other semi, the London Sir Adam Beck Spartans defeated the London-Arva Medway Cowboys 72-53. It was the first time Beck had defeated Medway in four games during the season. Gerry Witherden led Beck with 17. Tom Timbrell added 10, Brian Laird 12, Turek 0, Houg 13, Taylor 0, Earthy 0, Murray 0, Bill Woloshyn 0 and Barry Howson 15. Hines paced Medway with 17. Agar added 4, Hutchins 5 and Barclay 5.

       In the final, the Windsor Assumption Purple Raiders defeated the London Sir Adam Beck Spartans, who’d been a late invitee to the tourney. An up-tempo game featured a tight Windsor zone for most of the contest. Assumptions only trailed once at 44-42 but Bob Gardner took over the game. Tied at 46, Windsor switched to a man to man defence to try and contain Beck’s outside shooting. Assumption promptly went on a 14-3 run, including three field goals by Bob Gardner, two by Byron Rourke, and two by Leo Innocente. During the stretch, Beck only scored on a free throw by Bill Woloshyn and a field goal by Barry Howson. Windsor took a 60-49 and held on 66-56. Windsor had been up 18-12 at quarter and 33-24 at half. Bob Gardner finished with 24, Byron Rourke 20, Leo Innocente 14, Ed Marcuz 8, Carl St. Pierre 0, Dave Kuchta 0, Bucky Parent 0, Jim Broderick 0, Pat Bueker 0 and Tom Mailloux 0. Beck was paced by Tom Timbrell 14, Brian Laird 14, Barry Howson 13, Gerry Witherden 8, Turek 0, Houg 6, Taylor 0, Earthy 0, Murray 0 and Bill Woloshyn 1. Assumption coach Father Matt Sheedy noted that “I don’t believe that they (Beck) knew we had switched defenses in the last few minutes because we managed to intercept a few passes on them which helped us a lot.” Windsor Assumption entered tourney 13-0 with a rookie head coach, Father Matt Sheedy. The Purple Raiders started Leo Innocente and Carl St. Pierre at the guard spots, Bob Gardner and Byron Rourke at the forwards and Ed Marcuz at centre.
