In the quarterfinals, the Stayner Collegiate Spartans stunned the Harrow Hawks 49-48 as Reese Potter scored 20. Nathan Mulder led the Hawks with 19. Sheldon Matthews added 18. The Hawks led 26-20 at the half. The Hawks (coached by Gary McDonald) also included Fred Simonis, Kevin Hodges.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Niagara District Trojans edged the Newcastle Clarke Secondary Raiders 53-52 on a baseline jumper by Steve Raike. After the Raiders missed two free throws with seven seconds to play, Murray Marderosian pushed the ball up the floor and found Raike for the winner. Ron Quiring paced the Raiders with 19. Steve Raike added 12, Alex Szockyj 6 and Murray Marderosian 6. Trojans coach Grant Campbell told the St. Catharines Standard that “we didn’t deserve it. We played poorly.”

In the other semi, the Niagara-on-the-lake Niagara District Trojans clipped the Stayner Spartans 48-37 as Ron Quiring scored 19, Steve Raike 16 and Alex Szockyj 5. Spartans star Jeff Petter was contained to just 6 points by Trojan Andrew Cowan.
In the bronze medal match, the Van Kleek Hill Warriors whipped the Stayner District Spartans 65-51. The Spartans included Jeff Petter, Reese Potter.
In the final, the Mitchell District Blue Devils clubbed the Niagara-on-the-Lake Niagara District Trojans 79-59 as Greg Whitlock scored 31 and Doug McKirlic 18. Ron Quiring led the Trojans wit h22. Steve Raike added 14 and Murray Marderosian 9. The Blue Devils hit 80% from the field. Trojans coach Greant Campbell told the St. Catherines Standard that “I’ve never seen a high school team shoot like that. All McKirlic’s shots were from 18 feet and Whitlock was another Doug Fast (Brock University star). … We couldn’t stop them. In the second half, Whitlock warmed up and that was it.”
