       In the final, the top-seeded Hamilton St. Mary’s Crusaders defeated the 2nd-seeded Sarnia Northern Collegiate Vikings 42-36 as Rebecca Rewi scored 10. Kendel Ross led Sarnia Northern with 18. “We started off slow but so did Northern,” Crusaders’ Sara Pilon-Bignell told the Hamilton Spectator. “We worked really hard as a team. It was defence that did it.” The game was the rubber-match between Northern and St. Mary’s. Each had beaten the other in a tournament during the year. “The difference in the final game was that we played exceptional defence,” said Crusaders’ coach Rich Wesolowski. “We pretty much shut them down. They didn’t get many good looks at the basket. … Some of the kids on their team haven’t been in those high-pressure games. We know they are going to go through Kendel and their second and third-best players. We keyed on them. Sara and Devyn Cuncic did a real good job on Kendel. She’s going to get 18 on anyone. We didn’t want to give her 28.”
