Vaughan led 33-31 at the half and 54-41 after three quarters. Vaughan elevated its defensive pressure in the third quarter, ripping off a decisive 14-2 run. The Voyageurs shot 54.4% from the field and the Hawks 44.4%. Vaughan won the rebound battle 38-15. Vaughan coach Gus Gymnopoulos said his troops did a good job of handling the pressure of being the No. 1 seed. “Yes, we did, and there is a lot of pressure being No. 1. This is very special. This year was our fourth straight York title, our fourth straight OFSAA and our fourth straight OFSAA medal. But it’s our first gold. This is the best.
