In the bronze medal match, the Hamilton Cathedral Gaels defeated the 5th-seeded Niagara Falls A.N. Myer Marauders 69-67 on a buzzer beating bucket by Majak Kou, who told the Hamilton Spectator that “that’s the first time in my life that I hit that kind of shot. I really wanted to win that game. When we lost that last game by two, I came to this game saying that if I’m going out, I going as a champion. If it comes down to me, I’m going to take it. That’s my last game in Canada as a Gael and I’m going all out.” Gaels coach Mark Daly said that “I said to Andre (Harvey), if you’re stuck, throw it to Majak. But he knows better than me. They got home court … We ran out of gas again, simple as that.” Marauders coach Tom Grantis said “I just thought that a few of the calls down the stretch … playing in their gym, you get an instinct that things aren’t going your way. They had 3 or 4 calls in that last 20 seconds and all of those hurt us. What can you do? We were playing the best game we could.”
