In the quarterfinals, the Windsor Monarch Lions defeated Welland Westbrook 83-27 as Vaughan Carter scored 21, Frank Derose 20 and Doug Russel 16. Dwayne Carr scored 15 to lead Westbrook. Windsor exploded for 28 points in the second quarter to take command. Coach Bob Sinclair was his squad’s quickness and transition game proved the difference. “We scouted them once and found that we could win with the fast break and it worked well for us.” Monarch also included Terry Robinson, Bill Boucas.

        The Scarborough West Hill Warriors defeated Peel-Halton Brittania 62-56 as John Cressy scored 30 and Devon Steven 13. The Warriors also included Mike Pink. Dave Stewart led Britannia with 27.

        Oshawa General Vanier clipped Brantford H.E. Fawcett 53-27 as Doub McConkey scored 14 and Tony Lauzon 20. Ken Loughlin led Fawcett with 9.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Scarborough Bendale Bullets defeated the Thunder Bay Northwood (now Dennis Franklin Cromarty First Nations High) Huskies 63-49. The Huskies included Stan Slowik, Andy Quarrell.

        In the semis, the Scarborough Bendale Bullets dumped Windsor Monarch 59-45 as Melvin Mascall and Peter Evelyn each scored 20.

        In the other semi, the Toronto West Park Vikings thrashed the Oshawa General Vanier (now Oshawa Collegiate) Chiefs 80-46 as Collin Edwards scored 27.

        In the final, the Scarborough Bendale Bullets edged the Toronto West Park Vikings 46-43 as Melvin Mascall scored 31 and Paul Mason 7. Collin Edwards led the Vikings with 15. John Cressy added 10 and Gord Chausse 10. Mascall told the Toronto Star that while he could have even scored more if he hadn’t repeatedly passed off the ball, “sometimes it’s better. Sometimes more fun in passing off. I gotta say that I thought were in the third quarter when we were in the fourth. But all that really matters is that we’re number one.” The Vikings led 26-20 at the half.
