Falcons coach Karlyn Pixley told the Kingston Whig Stanrd that “the semifinal was a little bit tighter, but the girls just stuck to their game plan and their defence was solid. … In a year when it was in question whether we would be able to do anything — we didn’t travel and we only played 11 games going into to OFSAA — we didn’t have any idea how they would handle a weekend of multiple games every day.” Pixley said Ella Mayer notched a critical bucket down the stretch. “She was having a hard time getting the ball in and she actually threw off the back of her defender and stepped inbounds and hit a layup.”
