       In the final, the top-seeded St. Catharines Governor Simcoe Redcoats defeated the 2nd-seeded Essex Red Raiders 47-40 as Jacqui Precious scored 20 and Sarah Barnes scores 16 (also reported as 18). The Redcoats led 23-18 at the half and outscored the Red Raiders 17-7 in the third quarter, including a trio from beyond the arc by Precious. Redcoats coach John Dakin told the St. Catharines Standard that “we had good effort from everyone but Sarah Barnes, Jacqui Precious, Tacia Kilty and Sarah Wilson were just outstanding. They played their best games … It was a gutsy effort.” Crystal Bleau led Essex with 13. Jessi Piroski added 10. The game was tied 8-8 at the quarter. Simcoe leads 23-18 at the half and 40-25 at the three-quarter mark. The Redcoats led by 18 in the fourth quarter. “We fell asleep for the last minute and a half of the second quarter and the start of the third quarter,” Essex coach Joe Amicarelli told the Windsor Star. “They scored eight at the end of the second and started out with a 10-0 run in the third, so we had to play catchup in the fourth.”
