West Ferris led 27-22 at the half and 39-31 after three quarters, and by 12 in the fourth quarter before a furious Vikings rally pulled out the win. Clint Gore paced the Trojans with 20. Jamie Yank added 12. Trojans coach Tim Simpson told the North Bay Nugget that “we were right there. We had a shot to win it. … They had the ball, we fouled and they missed the front end of a one-and-one. We got it upcourt and had a chance. Our guy got knocked out of bounds, the referee ate his whistle and game was over. The kids played really well.
