       In the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Chatham John McGregor Panthers defeated the Ernestown Eagles 67-56. The Eagles led 13-6 after one quarter but faltered down the stretch. “We came out strong but we were unable to hold back an older and much physically stronger Chatham team that was able to get the ball to the glass and effectively play very tough defence to shut down our perimeter game in the mid part of the game,” said Ernestown coach Tom Turnbull. “But our team played well in gaining a berth in the top eight in Ontario.” Aaron Cornwall paced the Panthers with 28. Rob Smart led Ernestown with 27. Jeff Brierley added 12. The Eagles (coached by Tom Turnbull, assisted by Stewart Williams) also included Ben Doornekamp, Jon Orr, Mike Smart.

       The Burlington Lord Elgin Lancers edged the North Bay Widdifield Wildcats 74-72. Scott Dayton paced the Wildcats with 19. Gord Smith added 14 and Ricky Earle 12. Wildcats coach John Malnerich told the North Bay Nugget that “it was a see-saw battle all the way. They were a much bigger team than us but we played pretty well I thought we showed a lot of character coming back from the late 10-point deficit.” The Wildcats (coached by Malnerich, assistant Peter Topolie, assistant Jon Cobb) also included Dave Gallagher, Paul Cobb, Kevin Shawcross, John Dawson, Brock Childerhose.

       The Barrie North Collegiate Vikings dispatched the Peterborough Collegiate Raiders 67-62 as Ian Bryan scored 36. Jessie Young led the Raiders with 28.

       In the last quarterfinal, the Ottawa J.S. Woodworth Warriors edged the Thorold Monsignor Clancy Crusaders 64-60 in overtime as Sahid Kosar scored 31. Ryan Serravalle led the Crusaders with 36. Crusaders coach Jeff MacDonald said “we protested the game on a technicality, [i.e., the use of numbers 1 and 2 on Woodsworth uniforms]. … Our federation had a rule and we were just abiding by the rules. It is illegal to wear those numbers. Normally, a technical foul is issued at the beginning of the game and we asked for that. They really hemmed and hawed about it and we had the right to appeal, so we did.” The Crusaders also included Dan Auger, Sean McMillan, Anthony Divizia, Rich Ethier.

       In the semis, the Chatham John McGregor Panthers dispatched the Barrie North Collegiate Vikings x-x.

       In the other semi, the Burlington Lord Elgin Lancers defeated edged the Ottawa J.S. Woodsworth Warriors 45-43. Saeed Kosar paced the Warriors with 25.

       In the bronze medal match, the Barrie North Collegiate Vikings defeated the J.S. Woodsworth Warriors 50-45 as Ian Bryan scored 30. Henry Rogers led the Warriors with 20. The Warriors (coached by Trevor Costello) also included Saeed Kosar, Osman Kosar, Dave Barbier, Mohammed Ali.

       In the final, the Chatham John McGregor Panthers clipped the Burlington Lord Elgin Lancers 49-38 as Aaron Cornwall scored 17. Chad Heim led the Lancers with 13. The Panthers finished (40-5) on the season.
