There’s no nerves right now. We just want to get out there and get playing.” The Redmen included Ian Walsh.

The Sabres never relinquished the lead in the slow-paced affair. “It was their style of game, slow and deliberate,” said Sandwich coach Tim Sanders. “We prefer to play a more up-tempo game. But we adapted very well.” Dean Foreman added 8 points and Jayme Hall 11. Rob Chiaromida led the Blues with 11.
In the other semi, the top-seeded Timmins HVS Blues thumped the 4th-seeded Barrie North Vikings 36-29 as Jon Kreiner scored 13. Chris Lumsden led the Vikings with 13.
In the bronze medal match, the 4th-seeded Barrie North Vikings dispatched the 3rd-seeded Orillia District Blues 47-40 as Derek Colton scored 15. Ted Dongelmans led the Blues with 17. The Blues also included Rob Chiaromida, Scott Hounsome.
In the final, the 2nd-seeded LaSalle Sandwich Sabres defeated the top-seeded Timmins HVS Blues 45-34, avenging a two-point loss earlier in the season. “It felt so great inside,” Sabres’ forward Dean Foreman told the Windsor Star. “There were a couple of times this season when we didn’t get the job done and we wondered whether we were OFSAA material. Once we got here, even though it was our first time at OFSAA, our confidence just kept growing. Going into the last two games of the tournament, it was a really wonderful feeling, like we knew it was our tournament.” Richard Shaw paced Sandwich with 23.
