The Tartans opened the second half with a 5-0 run but the Blues rallied to a 40-34 lead after three quarters and then extended the margin to 54-39. “We got back in it by showing them some different defences and forcing some turnovers on the press, and pulled within three,” Walkerville coach Matt McDonald told the Windsor Star. “They had the ball on an out of bounds and we requested a timeout and four of our players were headed for the bench after one of the officials raised his hand, they thought to signal the time. But the other official handed the ball to the Timmins player and they inbounded and went in for an uncontested basket to raise the lead to five points.” Dave Spyta, Jon Kreiner and Chris Saumur each scored 13 to pace the Blues.
