We were always just hoping we could win the zone. Even when we got here, weren’t talking about winning it. We were confident in the last game but we didn’t want to watch Bathurst warm-up. When it was over, a lot of guys still couldn’t believe it for about 10 minutes.” Panthers’ assistant Peter Motolla said that “Bathurst pressed the whole game and we made them pay for it. I don’t think we turned the ball over more than once on their press. The guys took turns breaking the press. … They had doubled up on Maga for most of the game and we were looking to get the ball into him but Popadiuk made a very smart play with them overplaying Maga. He pulled up and made a nice shot to win it.”
