       In the quarterfinals, the Windsor William Hands Warriors defeated Port Elgin Saugeen 72-63 as Frank LaSorda scored 40, Rick Jolicoeur 23, Turner 4, R Fortier 4, B Fortier 2, Waltman 2 and Helmer 1. Tom McCullough paced Saugeen with 18.

       The Hamilton Sir Allan McNabb Lions dispatched the Belleville Nicholson Catholic Crusaders 63-45.

       The Waterdown District Warriors defeated the Odessa Ernestown Eagles 85-72 as Reg Forth scored 15. Sean Pritchard led the Eagles with 26. Harvey Sharpe added 18 and Bob Solc 10. The Eagles (coached by Tom Frood) also included Tom McKay, Gord Wilson, Colin McCue and Ron Heidebrecht.

       In the last quarterfinal, the Fenwick Pelham District Panthers dispatched Norwich District 52-50.

       In the semis, Windsor William Hands Warriors defeated the Waterdown District Warriors 77-73 in overtime as Frank LaSorda scored 33 and Rick Jolicoeur 24. Marty Forth paced the Warriors with 34. Otto Mack added 13 and Brian McLeish 10. Jolicouer hit a bucket from midcourt at the buzzer to force overtime with the score knotted at 71.

       In the other semi, the Hamilton Sir Allan McNabb Lions dispatched the Fenwick Pelham District Panthers x-x.

In the bronze medal match, the Fenwick Pelham District Panthers defeated the Waterdown District Warriors 60-51 as John Doornekamp scored 12. Ron Service led Waterdown with 16. The Warriors (coach Kaye Patterson) also included Reg Forth, Marty Forth, Otto Mack, Brian McLeish, Doug Patton, Brian Huiskamp, Jerry Huiskamp and Brian Cameron.

       In the final, the Hamilton Sir Allan MacNabb Lions defeated Windsor William Hands Secondary 58-43. The Lions led 31-28 at the half and pulled away down the stretch. They were led by Dave Roser, who scored 27 in final. Jim Russon added 14. Frank LaSorda paced Windsor with 25. Rick Jolicoeur added 13. In winning the L.G. Balfour Trophy, the Lions finished (18-5) on season. William Hands coach Doug Cowan told the Windsor Star that “we just ran out of gas in the last quarter. The heart was there but the legs couldn’t carry them … They dropped in the first couple of baskets in the second half and it was catch-up from then on.”
