       In the quarterfinals, the St. Catharines Merritton Lancers clipped the Peterborough St. Peter’s Saints 66-56 as Jim Heely scored 18, Paul Teeple 15 Bruce Peters 13 and Vetys Kazragis 11. The Lancers led 42-23 at the half. J Scollard paced St. Peter’s with 22.

In the other semi, St. Catherines Merritton whipped the Parkhill North Middlesex District Marauders 44-20 as Jim Heeley scored 19 and Bruce Peters 9. The Lancers full-court press yielded countless dividends. They led 11-4 after one quarter and 15-6 at the half. Tom Battram led the Marauders with 5. Jim St. Pierre added 5.

       In the final, Timmins Sacre-Coeur defeated the St. Catherines Merritton Lancers 57-42 as Jerry Wheeler scored 17 and Jean Renaud 17. Sacre-Couer led 19-11 after one quarter and 30-24 at the half. The Lancers knotted the score at 31 but Timmins regained a 43-33 lead after three quarters. Jim Heeley led the Lancers with 12. John Lynn added 10. Lancers coach Les Korchok told the St. Catharines Standard that “the kids just didn’t have anything left.”
