In a seven-team tourney held in Baker Lake,

In the bronze medal match, Cambridge Bay defeated Rankin Inlet x-x.

In the final, the Baker Lake Blizzard withstood a furious rally from Chesterfield Inlet to capture the crown by a 72-68 count in overtime. Chesterfield Inlet had trailed by nine with four minute to play. Blizzard coach Lazarus Attungala told Northern News Services that “the boys were pretty pumped to be playing in the final in their own community. It was a big crowd and everyone was right into the game before it even started. The overtime was nerve-racking for me. No one wanted to believe we were in overtime for a while, after having a nine-point lead so late in the game.”
