In the quarterfinals, held in Lockeport, the top-seeded Oxford Regional Golden Bears stomped the 8th-seeded Highland Baddeck Academy Broncos 91-13 as Taylor Mattison scored 18, Rhyse Black 10, Keyonna Stevens 10 and Ashley Wheaton 10. Keely Dixon paced the Broncos with 4. The Broncos included Dina Christie, Naomi McCormack, Ally Harvie and Grace Mason-Parkinson.
The 5th-seeded Kennetcook Hants North Rural Flames nipped the 4th-seeded Monastery East Antigonish Mustangs 55-50 as Miranda MacPhee scored 15. Katie McCall led the Mustangs with 21. Maddison DeGruchy added 12 and Brooke DeGruchy 9. The Mustangs played without starter Kelsey Bowman, who was ill, while DeGruchy suffered an ankle injury in the third quarter. The Flames led 18-6 after one quarter and 27-26 at the half. The Mustangs (coached by Terry Long) also included Stacy Wallace, Delaney Pettipas, Kelsey Paul and Zoe Harris.
The 2nd-seeded host Lockeport Greenwave whipped the 7th-seeded Terre Noir Cape Breton Highlands Educational Academy Huskies 64-41 as Alyssa Young scored 21 and Hailey Stuart 18. Keely Shaw paced the Huskies with 14. Maia Murphy added 13. The Huskies also included Ainsley Ross, Emily MacKay, Maia Murphy, Eva Mustard, Ali Doucet, Kayden MacLean, Taylor Boudreau-Deveaux, Kiera Doyle, Daphne Leblanc and Jessie Daley.
In the last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded Neil’s Harbour Cabot Academy Trailblazers defeated the 6th-seeded Pugwash Panthers 51-45 as Soray MacDougall scored 12 and Jesslyn Dixon 11. Justin Benjamin paced the Panthers with 19. Josie Mingo added 11. The Panthers also included Natasha Gullens and Brooklyn Tuttle.
In the semis, the top-seeded Oxford Regional Golden Bears crushed the 5th-seeded Kennetcook Hants North Rural Flames 64-39.
In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Lockeport Greenwave edged the 3rd-seeded Neil’s Harbour Cabot Academy Trailblazers 79-74.
In the bronze medal match, the 3rd-seeded Neil’s Harbour Cabot Academy Trailblazers dumped the 5th-seeded Kennetcook Hants North Rural Flames 49-37 as Jesslyn Dixon scored 15 and Breagh Hogan 9. The Flames were coached by Scott Gibbs and Keith Andrews.
In the final, the top-seeded Oxford Regional Golden Bears clocked the 2nd-seeded Lockeport Greenwave 65-45. Taylor Mattinson led the Golden Bears with 18. Bethany Warwick added 14.
