Erin Dorn led the Golden Bears with 13 points while Courtney Matthews and Karli Boyd netted 10 each for the Panthers. “We knew it was going to be a tough game against Pugwash, we’d played them a few times throughout the season,” Golden Bears co-coach Kendall Black told the Amherst Daily News. “It was a defensive battle in the first half of the game and both teams had key players in foul trouble which resulted in affecting the flow of the game that first half. It was nice to win, this is the first time in 10 years that Oxford girls ended the season as provincial champions. It was especially nice to see because three of our girls (Erin Dorn, Casey Perrin and Karen Brookins) graduate this year. All three girls had a strong weekend to close their careers.”
