Rebels coach Nick Gray told Saltwire that “the girls worked hard all year to get to this point with many early practices and it paid off.” Assistant Danyelle Rapp added that “it was a total team effort. Even sitting on the bench, they were keeping us going. The starting lineup all contributed. Reese Smith had 13 points over the weekend with great defence and rebounding. Halle Williams led the team in blocked shots to go with great rebounding and long outlet passes leading to baskets. Our lone Grade 12 player, Mary Thomas, she contributed her usual timely baskets, great defence, rebounds and charges taken. Players coming off the bench contributed key minutes while they were rallying the team.”
