The 2nd-seeded Digby Regional Lady Mariners dumped the 7th-seeded Bridgewater Lady Vikings 60-51. The Vikings included Emily Burtt.
The top-seeded Southwest Mabou Dalbrae Academy Dragons crushed the 8th-seeded Windsor King’s-Edgehill x-x.
In the last quarterfinal, the 4th-seeded Springhill Golden Eagles dumped the 5th-seeded Terre Noire Cape Breton Highlands Academy Huskies 54-49 as Kathryn MacDonald scored 14, Hilary Burbine 7, Lacey Rushton 7, Courtney Saveur 6, Brittany Barton 6, Teesha Symes 5, Shauna Ryan 5 and Tiffany Hunter 4. Catherine Fraser led the Huskies with 21. The Golden Eagles led 30-23 at the half.
In the semis, the Digby Regional Mariners dumped the Shelburne Regional Rebels 50-39. Courteney Doane led the Rebels with 14. Christine Henneberry added 13, Laura Mailman 5, Kara Nash 4 and Eleanor Melanson 2.
In the other semi, the top-seeded Southwest Mabou Dalbrae Academy Dragons edged the 4th-seeded Springhill Golden Eagles 42-40 as Meagan Campbell scored 16. Shauna Ryam led the Golden Eagles with 14. Kathryn MacDonald added 7, Tiffany Hunter 7, Lacey Rushton 6, Sam McCormick 2, Courtney Saveur 2, Teesha Symes 1 and Hilary Burbine 1.
In the bronze medal match, the host Shelburne Rebels defeated 4th-seeded Springhill Lady Golden Eagles 55-40 as Courtney Doane scored 14, Eleanor Melanson 8, Christine Henneberry 4, Laura Mailman 4, Courtney Acker 3, Paige Harding 3, Kara Nash 2, Megan Crosby 2 and Laura Keeler 1. Teesha Symes and Kathryn MacDonald each scored 10 to pace the Golden Eagles. Shauna Ryan added 6, Brittany Barton 6, Sam McCormick 4 Lacey Rushton 4 and Tiffany Hunter 2. “It was disappointing to fall short, but overall we had a successful season as a team,” Golden Eagles co-coach Charlie Chambers told the Amherst Daily News. “The girls played some solid ball throughout the season and a break here or there and we could’ve been playing for our fourth straight championship.” The Golden Eagles also included Courtney Saveur, Hilary Burbine. Rebels assistant John Huskilson told the Shelburne Coast Guard that “the e girls played well and we’re proud of them. This is the third time in a row they have finished third. We’ve got to get by the semi-finals game sometime but we’re only losing two players (to graduation). We’re going to be competitive again next year.”
In the final, the Southwest Mabou Dalbrae Academy Dragons defeated the Digby Regional Mariners 48-42.
