In the final, the Pugwash District Panthers clipped the Bridgewater Vikings 66-55. “Wow,” Panthers coach Vincent Pye told the Amherst Daily News. “It is such an overwhelming feeling of community and success for the athletes and the area. … It’s a mental relief after we came so close the last two years. … From the start, to the now, to the future, they are hundreds of students, I challenged them to be the 25 that won a championship, not the 12,000 that didn’t.”
