In the quarterfinals, held in Amherst, the top-seeded and three-time defending champ Amherst Regional Vikettes clipped the 8th-seeded Cambridge Station Berwick Central Kings Rural Gators 59-23. The Vikettes broke to an 18-0 lead and romped. Marlon Smith paced the Vikettes with 12. Natalie Gould added 11, Morgan Lewis 9, Emily Burke 6, Taylor Mackenzie 6, Laura Holloway 6, Kelly Cormier 2, Allie Gallagher 2 and Taylor MacDonald 2. “We had a lopsided game right off the bat and it’s hard to keep focused in a game like that,” Vikettes coach Fred Gould told the Amherst Daily News. Robyn MacNeill led the Gators with 11. Cassandra Burrell added 6.

        The 4th-seeded Middleton Regional Martens crushed the 5th-seeded Port Hawkesbury Strait Area Education and Recreation Centre Saints 43-29. Ann Ryan led the Saints with 10. Crissanda Crant added 6, Lindsay McNamara 6, Paige Walker 6, Megan Cyr 2 and Melanie Wagar 2. The Saints (coached by Ron Lynds) also included Christene Smith, Ashley Kehoe, Amanda Bolger, Emiley Smith, Sara Johnston, Jessica Cahill, and Chelsea Cameron.

        The 2nd-seeded New Waterford Breton Education Centre Bears stomped the 7th-seeded Middle Sackville Millwood Knights 94-47.

        In the last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded Canning Northeast Kings Education Centre defeated the 6th-seeded Liverpool Regional Warriors 80-36 as Laura Roy scored 22. The Warriors also included Julie Silmarie.

        In the semis, the top-seeded Amherst Regional Vikettes defeated the 4th-seeded Middleton Regional Martens 53-28.

        In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded New Waterford Breton Education Centre Bears defeated the 3rd-seeded Canning Northeast Kings Education Centre Titans 81-67 as Chelsea MacKay scored 28 and Kaleigh McDonald 26. The Bears broke to a 30-4 lead. They led 52-23 at the half. Laura Roy led the Titans with 30.

        In the bronze medal match, the 3rd-seeded Canning Northeast Kings Education Centre Titans edged the 5th-seeded Middleton Regional Monarchs 49-46 as Laura Roy scored 20.

        In the final, the 2nd-seeded New Waterford Breton Education Centre Bears defeated the top-seeded Amherst Vikettes 73-67. Amherst fell behind early, trailing 22-6 after the opening quarter, before outscoring the Bears in the other three quarters. “I thought we outplayed them, but we just didn’t get the shots to fall. They had three different players combine for 10 three-pointers and they scored 25 shots from the free-throw line,” Vikettes’ coach Fred Gould said. “They only had nine, two-point shots.” Emily Burke led the Bears with 22. Chelsea MacKay added 20 and Kaleigh Macdonald 20. Marlon Smith scored 23 for Amherst. Emily Burke added 14, Natalie Gould 9, Morgan Lewis 9, Taylor MacKenzie 5, Taylor MacDonald 4 and Taylor Cormier 3. The Bears led 39-28 at the half. Bears coach Jason Kavanaugh said his troops played with heart. “That final game was the best game I¹ve seen them play. That Amherst team is an excellent team and they had to play that well to beat them and they did. It’s surreal. It’s wicked.”
