In the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Antigonish Dr. John Hugh Gillis Royals crushed the 8th-seeded Berwick Central Kings Rural Gators 93-56 as Nathan Dayman notced 17, along with 8 boards and 6 steals, Nicholas Dayman 14, along with 10 boards, and Anthony Sears 13, along with 6 steals.

        The 4th-seeded Middleton Regional Monarchs dusted the 5th-seeded Amherst Regional Vikings 77-55.

        The 2nd-seeded New Waterford Breton Educational Centre Bears stomped the 7th-seeded Bridgetown Regional Trojans 90-69 as Robert Odo scored 23. Sam Chisholm paced the Trojans with 26.

        In the last quarterfinal, the 3rd-seeded host Middle Sackville Millwood Knights bombed the 6th-seeded Chester Basin Forest Heights Community Falcons 87-55.

        In the bronze quarterfinals, the 7th-seeded Bridgetown Regional Trojans spanked the 6th-seeded Chester Basin Forest Heights Community Falcons 83-65 as Tanner Cress scored 19 and Sam Chisholm 17. Dylan Morrow led the Falcons with 22.

        In the other bronze quarterfinal, the 5th-seeded Amherst Regional Vikings crushed the 8th-seeded Berwick Central Kings Rural Gators 68-50 as Luke Legere scored 18 and Caleb Van Vulpen 16. The Gators included Alex Parnell, Lance Keddy, Nolan Ogden, Isaac Moores, Gabriel Leoni.

        In the semis, the 2nd-seeded New Waterford Breton Educational Centre Bears edged the 3rd-seeded host Middle Sackville Millwood Knights 78-75 as Morgan MacIssac scored 18 and Robert Odo 16. Cameron Weagle paced the Knights with 22. Morgan Rae added 19.

+       In the other semi, the top-seeded Antigonish Dr. John Hugh Gillis Royals clipped the 4th-seeded Middleton Regional Monarchs 84-72 as Nathan Dayman scored 32, along with 9 boards, Jordan Phee 26, and Nicholas Dayman 10, along with 15 boards and 6 assists.

        In the bronze semis, the 5th-seeded Amherst Regional Vikings whipped the 3rd-seeded Middle Sackville Millwood Knights 77-75. The Knights included Cameron Weagle, Morgan Rae.

        In the other bronze semi, the 7th-seeded Bridgetown Regional Royals edged the 4th-seeded Middleton Regional Monarchs 66-63. The Monarchs (coached by Greg Bower, Paul Shaffner, John MacDonald and Quinn VandenHeuvel, managers Dylan Taylor and Jaco Bohemier) included Keigan Neilson, Adam Wentzell, Kris Hampton, Hayden Wilkins, Noah Bezanson, Elyias French, Evan Naughler, Tyler Baker, Dan Bower and Rob Bower.

        In the bronze medal match, the 5th-seeded Amherst Regional Vikings clubbed the 7th-seeded Bridgetown Regional Royals 78-49. The Royals included Tanner Cress, Sam Chisholm.

        In the final, the top-seeded Antigonish Dr. John Hugh Gillis Royals dispatched the 2nd-seeded New Waterford Breton Educational Centre Bears 72-61 to capture their fourth consecutive title. Nicholas Dayman and Jordan Phee told The Casket that defence proved the difference. “We know each other so well and we have great communication,” Dyman said. Jordan added “helping one another” on defence was crucial. Royals coach Jason Dayman said “we started in a 2-3 zone, switched to man, and then we took off. … We were able to shut them down.” The Royals led 34-32 at the half, 53-41 after three quarters and by as many was 20 in the final quarter. “We didn’t get off to a fast start, but we were able to figure things out,” the coach said. Phee, who scored 29, said “it feels great – I am super pumped about what we were able to accomplish. We played together as one. … I was able to score, with a lot of help from my teammates, and find them for open shots.” Nathan Dayman notched 13, along with 7 boards, Anthony Sears 11, Cole MacDonald 11, and Nicholas Dayman 8, along with 14 boards. “I didn’t have a great shooting game, but I focussed on contributing in other ways,” Nicholas Dayman said. Coach Dayman said “we have a great group of kids who really play for each other.” He added that Jordan Phee “was great at pushing the ball and getting to the hoop throughout the tournament,” the head coach said. “Everyone had a great tournament and they really stepped up. … And it wasn’t a walk in the park.” Robert Odo led the Bears with 29. Morgan MacIsaac added 19.
