In the quarterfinals, held in New Waterford, the 2nd-seeded Middleton Regional Monarchs defeated the 7th-seeded Amherst Regional Vikings 74-68. The Vikings erased a 10-point fourth quarter deficit and led by one with minutes to play but several turnovers and missed layups undid their hopes of an upset. “Middleton played very well down the stretch and were most deserving of the win,” Vikings coach Reg Caulfield told the Amherst Daily News. “They had only had three turnovers in the entire game and executed the game plan to perfection,” Caulfield said. Dylan Rushton led the Vikings with 32, along with 8 steals. Sammy Mohamad added 11, John Pyke 9, Patrick Neufeld 7, Adrian van Vulpen 4, Ryan Thompson 2 and Shaddy Mohamad 2. The Vikings (coached by Reg Caulfield, Bob Hunter, Matt Gamblin and Thomas Skabar) also included Josh Lee, David Manuele, Caleb Hayes and Alex Embree.
The top-seeded Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial Vikings stomped the 8th-seeded Alma Northumberland Regional Nighthawks 77-44.
The 3rd-seeded Berwick Central Kings Rural Gators whipped the 6th-seeded Musquodoboit Harbour Eastern Shore District Schooners 102-73 as Trent Oickle scored 24, Jalen Saean 23, Jeff Mollins 21 and Andrew Jennings-Lindsay 17. William Brown led the Schooners with 26.
In the last quarterfinal, the 5th-seeded Bridgewater Vikings nipped the New Waterford Breton Educational Centre Bears 90-87 in overtime. The Bears (coached by Jean Guy Demeter) included Jeremy Piovesan.
In the semis, the top-seeded Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial Vikings clipped the 5th-seeded Bridgewater Vikings 77-61.
In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Middleton Regional Monarchs edged the 3rd-seeded Berwick Central Kings Rural Gators 99-95 as Adam McNeil scored 43, Bradley Bent 18 and Ryan McNeil 14. Trent Oickle led the Gators with 25. Jalen Sabean added 23, Jeff Mollins 22 and Doug Malley 16.
In the bronze medal match, the Berwick Central Kings Rural Gators defeated stomped the 5th-seeded Bridgewater Vikings 74-58 as Trent Oickle scored 24, Jeff Mollins 15 and Andrew Jennings-Lindsay 12. Andrew Snyder led the Vikings with 18.
In the final, the top-seeded Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial Vikings annihilated the 2nd-seeded Middleton Regional Monarchs 130-62. Sam Durling paced the Vikings with 37. Desi Sisco added 22, Luke Nickerson 19, Kory Goudey 15 and Adam Barnett 15. “To play as well as they did in a final game was just like a perfect ending to the season,” said Yarmouth coach Tom MacMillan. Adam McNeil paced the Monarchs with 20. Ian Gullage added 13 and Ben Reid 12.
