In the quarterfinals, held in Truro, the top-seeded Halifax Citadel Phoenix stomped the 8th-seeded Halifax Charles P. Allen Cheetahs 69-40 as Jayla Verney scored 15. Kate Gallant led the Cheetahs with 8. The Cheetahs also included Rebecca Strothers, Shea MacDonald, Amanda Janes, Karen Boliver, Kelsey Clory, Alix Boudreau, Leah Gouthro.

The 5th-seeded Halifax Grammar Gryphons whipped the 4th-seeded host Truro Cobequid Educational Centre Cougars 78-55 as Jane McLaughlin scored 29 and nabbed 19 boards. Erin MacNeil added 16 and Kathleen McDonald 8. The Gryphons led 34-27 at the half. Brooke Densmore led the Cougars with 19. Brittany Mackay added 10. The Cougars (coached by Paul Dennis, assisted by Jude Clyke) also included Madison Munro, Nicole Smith, Ryann McNamara, Kim Roode, Samantha Strickland, Julia Davis.

The 3rd-seeded Fall River Lockview Dragons dumped the 6th-seeded Coxheath Riverview Rural Royals 75-56 as Megan Thompson scored 32. Alex Strang added 14. Alison Keough paced the Royals with 17. Brandi Mills added 12. The Royals (coached by Jeff Lalanne, assisted by Doug MacKenzie) also included Sarah Cameron, Becky Hanna, Cassie MacDonald, Jocelyn Manley, Jessie MacDonald, Olivia Gentile, Chantel MacIntyre, Joanna MacPhee and Kelsie Ferguson.

In the last quarterfinal, the 7th-seeded Sydney Mines Memorial Composite Marauders stunned the 2nd-seeded Greenwich Horton Griffins 58-51 as Emma Vickers and Hannah Brown each scored 15. The Marauders led 25-23 at the half. Candace Smith and Lauren Jodrey each scored 21 to pace the Griffins. The Griffins (coached by Jennifer Veinot, assisted by Ian MacMillan) also included Hannah Bawn, Gillian Cumby, Kristen Jodrey, Molly Johnson, Emily MacArthur, Rachel Mader, Amber Nickerson, Graysen Parker, Scarlett Smith and Jennika Veinot.

        In the semis, the 3rd-seeded Fall River Lockview Dragons dispatched the 7th-seeded Sydney Mines Memorial Composite Marauders 55-48. Ellen Hatt paced the Dragons with 14. Lauren Miller added 11 and Kelsey Rice 10. The Dragons exploded to a 34-14 lead at the half and held of the Mavericks in the second frame. “They (Memorial) got it down to four but the girls hung on and hit a couple big shots down the stretch and we got it done,” Lockview coach Sean Hanlon said. Hannah Brown paced the Marauders with 20 points and Karina Kuchta had 10.

        In the other semi, the top-seeded Halifax Citadel Phoenix clipped the 5th-seeded Halifax Grammar Gryphons 67-51 as Mendeira smith scored 17. Kate Ross led the Gryphons with 28, including 19 in the first half.

        In the bronze medal match, the 7th-seeded Sydney Mines Memorial Composite Marauders clipped the 5th-seeded Halifax Grammar Gryphons 64-51. The Gryphons (coached by Kathy Spurr, assistant Kelly Donald) also included Jane McLaughlin, Erin MacNeill, Kathleen McDonald, Katie Ross, Mairi McKinnon, Paige Conrad, Kate Hage, Amy Minnikin, Megan Sutton, Allie Surrette, Nary Gawdat and Katherine Morris.

        In the final, the top-seeded Halifax Citadel Phoenix defeated the 3rd-seeded Fall River Lockview Dragons 74-62. The Phoenix won their 63rd game in a row as Jayla Verney scored 21 and Jane Boyle 18. The Phoenix led 38-21 at the half but the Dragons trimmed to margin to 8 with three minutes to play. “The girls’ kind of buckled down from there and took the challenge and pulled it out,” Phoenix coach Ian MacRae said. Point guard Mendeira Smith said “we kept our heads in the game, we played as a team. Both teams played well, both teams played hard. We really wanted it, though. I’m proud of my girls. I couldn’t have asked for better teammates and a better team.” Kelsey Rice paced the Dragons with 20.
