The 7th-seeded Sackville Kingfishers stunned the 2nd-seeded Bedford Charles P. Allen Cheetahs 95-85. In the other semi, the 7th-seeded Sackville Kingfishers edged the 3rd-seeded Halifax Grammar Gryphons 74-70.
In the bronze medal match, the 3rd-seeded Halifax Grammar Gryphons edged the 4th-seeded Cole Harbour Auburn Drive Eagles 95-94. The Eagles (coached by Jim Bowes and Curtis Coward) included Cody Grant, Eli Krausher, Treno Marton, Keonte Johnson-Carvery, Jarvis Bernard, Jace Colley, Tariq Thomas, Chase Tynes, Kayo Williams, Kendall Saunders, Jahnaz Bernard-Colley, Tre Smith and Iffy Chiekwe.
In the final, the top-seeded Greenwich Horton District Griffins clipped the 7th-seeded Sackville Kingfishers 84-75 to cap a boy’s/girl’s double for the school. “The atmosphere at our gym was electric,” said Horton boys coach Kevin Veinot told CBC Nova Scotia. “It was a very memorable and meaningful experience for all the boys.”
