The province reclassified its schools into divisions. Division 1 represents schools with over 700 students. The former AAA represented schools with more than 500 students.
In the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Antigonish Dr. John Hugh Gillis Royals defeated the 8th-seeded Halifax St. Patrick’s Fighting Irish 82-77 in overtime as Mark Chisholm scored 29, Dave Doyle 18 and James Duggan 14. Leo Naas Murphy led St. Patrick’s with 18. Darrell Moors added 16. The Irish missed a chance to win it in regulation when David Terrio missed a pair of free throws with one second remaining in regulation and the score knotted at 65. The Fighting Irish also included Damon Parachnowitsch, Leo Naas Murphy, John Naas Murphy.
The 3rd-seeded Dartmouth Spartans defeated the 6th-seeded Musquodoboit Rural Mustangs 93-69 as Sean Cluett scored 19, L.J. Evans 17, Roger Sparks 17, Danny Stone 16 and Mike Moores 15. Seth Kingsbury led Musquodoboit with 36. Josh Kingsbury added 18.
The 4th-seeded Halifax West Warriors thumped the 5th-seeded Coxheath Riverview Rural Royals 79-61 as Fred Perry scored 26 and Troy Wilson 22. Ian MacDonald led the Royals with 21. Michael Wadden added 16. The Royals also included Shane Hussey, David Barrington.
In the last quarterfinal, the 2nd-seeded Halifax Queen Elizabeth Lions dumped the 7th-seeded Greenwich Horton Griffins 69-53 as Dave Paris scored 16. Pat Murphy led the Griffins with 11. The Griffins also included Shaun Johnson, Rob McCarthy.
In the semis, the Halifax Queen Elizabeth Lions defeated the Dartmouth Spartans 72-64 as Dave Paris scored 19, Jonah Taussig 16 and Stephen Nelson 13. Danny Stone led the Spartans with 18. Roger Sparks and Sean Cluett each added 14. Neither team led by more than six until the final minute.
In the other semi, the Halifax West Warriors edged the Antigonish Dr. John Hugh Gillis Royals 83-82 as Troy Wilson scored 20, Fred Perry 19 and Alan Williams 19. Mark Chisholm led the Royals with 20. Brendan Hines added 16. Halifax led 52-27 at the half but the Royals rallied back to a five-point lead in the second half. Perry sunk two free throws with 18 seconds to pull out the win.

In the final, the Halifax West Warriors defeated the Halifax Queen Elizabeth Lions 57-56.
